Linking Health & Education to Prevent & Respond to Violence Against Children
WHO has long recognised the potential for schools to play a central role in safeguarding student health and well-being, including the prevention of violence against children in all countries or settings, be they high, middle, or low-income countries, or host countries to displaced children and families or crises- affected regions. The Global School Health Initiative and the End Violence Partnership’s Safe to Learn initiative are intrinsically linked and reinforce each other to ensure all girls and boys independently of where they live and learn have access to safe learning environments.
This event will highlight the role of the health sector in preventing and responding to violence against children in and through schools and promote dialogue, information sharing and reflection between the health and education in emergency settings and beyond.
