UNICEF Canada

UNICEF Canada is a Canadian NGO established 60 years ago and the representative of UNICEF in Canada. We believe all children, regardless of gender, culture, religion and socio-economic background, have the right to grow up in safety. We build awareness, raise funds, and mobilize Canadians to help advance children’s rights and well-being; ensuring every child has the opportunity to reach their full potential. We support UNICEF’s programs that protect children from violence, exploitation and abuse. We promote public policy and practices in the best interest of children to contribute to the fulfillment of children’s rights in Canada and around the world. UNICEF utilizes its influence not only to provide safety for children in need, but also to make a noticeable change in their overall outlook on life. UNICEF believes that if we create a safe, nurturing environment, then every child will get a chance in life regardless of circumstances. As part of the UN, we are active in more countries and have saved more children’s lives than any other humanitarian organization. UNICEF is the only organization listed in the Convention on the Rights of the Child, as the global leader for children.
