Local Environment Development and Agricultural Research Society (LEDARS)

LEDARS is a Bangladeshi NGO that has been working for social, economic and environmental development of the poor and marginal people of the southwest coastal region of Bangladesh since 1996.

According to the constitution of LEDARS, we believe all children, regardless of gender, culture, religion and socio-economic background, have the right to grow up in safety and dignity. The working area of LEDARS is an area that frequently faces devastating disasters and children of the poor families face a lack of food and shelter, hygiene environment and face physical and sexual harassment. LEDARS operates child-friendly spaces in these disaster-affected areas. In addition, LEDARS builds awareness, raise funds for projects for child development, and mobilize civil society and community people to help to advance children’s rights and safety.
