Christian Mission Service

Introduction: Christian Mission Service is a charitable organisation which was established in 1957 with the goal of educating and caring for orphan children irrespective of their caste, creed and religion. Over the years, we have established seventy-four institutions which are dedicated to the care and well-being of other vulnerable sections of our society such as the aged, the destitute and the poor. We have grown to engage people from all walks of life and not just children, but currently, the Mission has a Home for mentally challenged children, Specially-Abled and Senior Citizens. For the past 65 years, approximately 50,000 children have passed through the gates of CMS. The Mission has catered and guided these children – most of whom have overcome significant difficulty and limitations. Some of the alumni—approximately a 150, have excelled in various walks of life, in different parts of the world. As a charitable organization we do not compromise on excellence and quality. Indeed, our focus for each child who enters our gates is to help them develop to their utmost potential through a holistic education. We, at the CMS, build bridges from where the child is today, to what he or she may become tomorrow. CMS has only grown through the years. At present we have 3900 children under the care of 350 committed staff, many of whom are alumni of the CMS itself and have dedicated their lives to serve the cause. The Mission has Children’s Homes, Homes for Specially-Abled, Training Centres (ITIs), Primary Schools, High School over six states (Tamil Nādu, Kerala, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal) in India. We also run Kiruba Centres (evening free Tuition with dinner) and Day Care Centres (Creches) for children above three, whose parents are poor workers. When these children reach the school-going age, CMS helps them academically by providing following:  Provide Homes for orphan and semi-orphan children where all their basic needs are met;  Educate the children through local schools, colleges and institutions;  Provide vocational training to the children and needy youth through training institutions;  Train child Care Workers, (Deacons and House Mothers) who will, with dedication, serve the children in the institutions;  Care for the physically and mentally disabled children and the aged in institutions geared to their needs;  Help settle and establish the children when they pass out of the Homes;  Look after the children of poor workers, during the day, in Day Care Centres; OUR VISION: “To demonstrate the love of Christ in the service and care of poor children.” OUR MISSION: “To serve destitute children by meeting their needs and giving them holistic care with a view to make them self-reliant and responsible citizens.”
