WOMEN CONCERN (WOCO)

Women Concern is a Congolese (DRC) nonprofit with a mission of Bringing rural woman and girl to discover their potentialities and to accompany them to exploit them for inclusive development. Our experience in this field has led us to discover that women and girls continue to suffer from discrimination and violence in all regions of the world in general and those in the DRC in particular related to the fact that gender equality is a right which is not respected and that the cries for the help of women and girls grow more.

Our gender-sensitive approach ensures that the fight against gender and gender-based violence is a key element of integrated programs. We will advocate for access to services by men and boys and seek their participation as partners and co-agents of change, to work together with women and girls to reduce violence and realize gender equality in order to promote positive masculinity which is also an indispensable and supportive tool for gender equality.

It is therefore with the aim of promoting gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls in the DRC by putting an end to all these tragedies that Women Concern was born. A society where the dignity of the woman and girl reigns is our vision We are affiliated to COMEF, a national coalition of CSOs to end child marriage, Girls Not Brides/ UK a global partnership to end Child Marriage, Sustainable Sanitation Alliance, and International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons .
