Share Child Opportunity Eastern and Northern Uganda (SCOEN) is a charitable Ugandan organisation working to promote children’s protection and advance the rights of women and children. Established in 2010, SCOEN seeks to ensure that all children are protected from all forms of exploitation, neglect, physical, sexual or emotional abuse through effective national and community-based child protection systems. We with children, young people and communities and have learned what stands in the way of children’s rights and gender equality. We understand how and when children’s rights are violated and girls are denied equality. We also understand the impact this has on their lives. This knowledge and experience put us in a unique and powerful position to address the violations children face and to tackle the root causes of discrimination against girls, exclusion and vulnerability.
