Registered on 23rd August 1993, Nav Bhartiya Nari Vikas Samiti (NBNVS) is an NGO based in the Ballia district of Uttar Pradesh, India. The organisation was a result of long discussion and debate when a small group of Muslim women professionals such as teachers, advocates, doctors and social activists united to work for the development of the Muslim and Dalit communities especially the women and children. The organization took to the ideals of Gandhi to promote integrated and self-sustaining village society by uplifting the depressed, exploited and the down-trodden section of the society including children, women and the elderly. They work to put an end to illiteracy, improve people's health status, and transform the Ballia district into a healthy and vibrant society. The organization’s mission is “to build society through community empowerment for sustainable development and protection of rights.”
