Music Camp International

Music Camp International (MCI) is an international children’s non-profit organisation, registered in the USA, Romania, and Ukraine. We work directly with children from all economic, social, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds, especially focusing on children with special needs, and those affected by conflict and violence. The mission of Music Camp International is to transform children, communities and countries through the power of music. To achieve it, we conduct five different kinds of programs: virtual music camps, city day-camps, annual festivals, music camps for children with special needs, and after-school program PLUS. We organise a dynamic week of music rehearsals and classes for children taught by highly qualified teachers.

A day at music camp includes choir where children sing in multiple languages everything from classics to national and international music. In addition, each child has two electives where they are taught instruments and perform in an ensemble. For many children, Music Camp is their first chance to play or even hold a musical instrument. At the end of each camp, children perform accompanied by professional orchestra and bring a message of love, dignity and hope to children, their communities and countries. Our programs are not about developing professional musicians, as it is developing responsible and compassionate citizens. We teach children to set high goals, support each other, and work together to achieve more than anyone could alone. We believe that children who learn together, work together, achieve together, perform together, accept one another, and have strong relationships will not pick up arms and fight one another.

Music Camp International has been working since 2002, having engaged over 25,000 children in Ukraine, Romania and the USA. The new Virtual Music Camps, launched in 2020 as a response to the global COVID-19 pandemic, gives an opportunity to engage children from other countries of the world, such as India and Kenya.
