Democracy School

The Democracy School works in all parts of the Republic of Yemen. Since 2002, our organization has been concerned with children rights, and increase of community awareness for the concern and preservation of children rights, and our organization has presented multiple projects to serve this goal. In cooperation with our local and international partners, our organization has implemented projects, for example:

Children's Parliament - Child Rights Governance
Since 2002, the Children's Parliament in Yemen has been formed by elections among children and meets in the form of sessions that reach about 25 sessions per year, and committees formed of children "after training them in administrative and technical skills" to follow up the government regarding any practices, violations, or violence against children.

Center for Social and Legal Defense for Children in Conflict with the Law "SLDC"
The center works on focused follow-up on every case of children in conflict with the law and provides psychological and social support for the child "health and nutritional when necessary" and resolving and defending any disputes with the law.

Future leaders
The project works to improve the conditions of children by ensuring that all government and private agencies do not violate the rights of the child or expose them to physical and sexual abuse. The teams emerging from the Children’s Parliament work from last years in preparing reports and monitoring cases of child abuse.
