The Corpo Italiano di San Lazzaro is a non-profit voluntary organization with the purpose of social assistance and support, civil protection and protection and enhancement of cultural heritage. The Corps is the Italian branch of the Lazarus Union, an international NGO recognized by the United Nations, with which it coordinates for international activities.

The Association is secular and apolitical, open to any form of collaboration and activity that can be seen in the international motto "Let's create new perspectives together".

CSLI has been active in Italy since 2009 and has since carried out numerous voluntary and civil protection activities aimed at citizenship, schools, the weakest and socially marginalized.
