African Cultural Awareness in Norway

African Cultural Awareness is an organisation that works with different issues to promote the interest of the African community in Norway. We work with different administrative and resilience enhancing projects, civil liberty and the defence of human rights. We also respond to most negative and derogatory coverage of the African community in the Norwegian mass media through active participation. We also engage in dialogue, civil protest and court cases with different Norwegian agencies (the police, immigration and health and social service and cild welfare agencies) and sometimes-joint programs to promote the interest of the community.

African Cultural Awareness has, over 20 years, established a good working relationship with diverse national, migrant and other interest organisations. Together with these organizations, we often create forums for discussions on issues that portray Africans and the African continent on a global perspective.

Parental and child development resilience programs and individual consultation on different migration issues and challenges have always represented the main bulk of our activities We also run different Youth Programs (Young Immigrant TV) that allow young people to use the digital revolution in the film industry to tell their own stories through audio visual expressions. www.youtube.com/yitv
