The End Violence Knowledge Network has published a Methods Menu to untangle the variety of options available for measuring baseline data on violence against children across the world. 

Why we like this piece

Collecting quality data on violence against children is essential for good policy and practice. The field of violence prevention has been advancing rapidly in the past 20 years precisely because the collection of data addressing the magnitude, nature, and consequences of violence against children (VAC) has grown both exponentially and globally. There are a variety of choices available now to countries wanting to better understand the status of VAC. This menu is designed to help navigate the options (by type of data, choice of methodological approaches, and costs) and choose a best-fit data collection package for any national setting.
