Artificial Intelligence for children: a toolkit

Why we like this piece

With the rapidly transforming digital advances taking place today, children and youth are increasingly surrounded by Artificial Intelligence (AI) in their daily lives. AI determines the videos children watch, their curriculum as they learn, their play and interaction with others. It is essential to make sure that with, and even through, AI, the rights of children are ensured and they are protected from potential risks posed by the technology.

This toolkit from the World Economic Forum, produced by technologists, academics, business leaders and youth themselves, is designed to help companies develop trustworthy AI for children and youth and to help parents, guardians, children and youth responsibly buy and safely use AI products. It aims to help responsibly design, consume and use AI, making it a tool for  more opportunities, and less threats, for children.
