HIGH-LEVEL DIALOGUE TO DRIVE ACTION TOWARDS ENDING VIOLENCE IN SCHOOLS: TRANSFORMING EDUCATION PRE-SUMMIT SIDE MEETING

Date: Jun 29, 2022
Time: 13.30 – 15.00 (CEST)
Address: Online webcast

The UN Secretary General’s Transforming Education Summit (TES) this year provides a unique opportunity for political leaders to forge a new social contract for education - one where violence prevention is right at the heart of efforts to accelerate progress on education.

To support political dialogue, partner engagement and youth participation under the ‘safe learning’ sub-theme of TES Action Track 1 on “inclusive, equitable, safe and healthy schools”, Safe to Learn, the Global Partnership for Education and the Government of Namibia are co-convening a high-level invite-only side meeting at the Transforming Education Pre-summit.

The side meeting will be webcast by UNESCO as part of the summit coverage. We would be delighted for you to join us and watch online!

Hosted by young people, the high-level dialogue will bring together Ministers, leaders, experts and advocates for a dynamic discussion highlighting new ideas and solutions to end violence in and through schools and what political action can be taken by the global education community at the Transforming Education Summit in September.

The event will also serve as the launch for a new high-level Safe to Learn essay collection.

The side meeting will be streamed online here - you can choose Room VII to view the session

If you would like to get in touch with Safe to Learn regarding the webcast, essay collection, or the safe learning sub-theme of the TES please email safetolearn@end-violence.org.
